Cristy Tomaszewski, LCSW

Cristy joined Heartland Health Services in 2020 as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Cristy is based at the Carver location and provides services at our Knoxville location one day a week. She comes to us with nearly ten years of experience in community mental health and inpatient behavioral health in Peoria.

Cristy is passionate about women’s issues, domestic violence, and gender oppression. Cristy has experience in treating a variety of difficulties including depression, anxiety, personality disorder traits, stress management, substance use, grief/loss, or any life adjustment. She also has experience working with the geriatric population, families, and group therapy.

Her goal as a social worker is to identify the patient’s strengths and empower them to make positive changes in their lives. Cristy believes that each individual she meets with as a unique story to share and personality is often an overlooked component in treatment. Utilizing different treatment modules can further match the patient with the best form of treatment for their difficulties and personality. Our personality not only defines who we are but how we behave. This provides the opportunity to explore unhealthy patterns and behaviors in order to improve the patient’s quality of life.

In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her three children, coaching soccer, and boating.
