Join us from August 4th to August 10th as we honor the vital role community health centers play in providing quality healthcare to our entire community. This week, we highlight our mission, share inspiring patient stories, and participate in a variety of events aimed at promoting health, wellness, and strong communities

About National Health Center Week: National Health Center Week (NHCW) is an annual celebration designed to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America's health centers over the past five decades. Community health centers serve as a beacon of strength, service, and care in their communities. They provide high-quality healthcare to more than 31.5 million Americans.

 National Health Center Week 2024 Events:

• Heartland Health Services Day at the Peoria Chiefs

  • Date: August 4, 2024

  • Time: 2:00 PM 

  • Location: Dozer Park - 730 SW Jefferson Ave., Peoria, IL 61605

  • Description: Join us for a fun-filled, family-friendly baseball game with the Peoria Chiefs. This is a great opportunity to engage with HHS employees, soak up some sun, and cheer the Chiefs on to a victory.

• Health Center Staff Appreciation

  • Date: All Week Long

  • Time: All Day

  • Location: All Heartland Health Services sites

  • Description: Throughout the week, we will express our gratitude in various ways, recognizing the hard work and commitment of our staff who make our mission possible. From thoughtful gestures and surprise treats to fun awards and heartfelt messages, this week will bring a unique expression of our appreciation. Let's come together to honor the exceptional contributions of our healthcare heroes who go above and beyond to serve our community!

• Patient Appreciation Day

  • Date: August 7, 2024

  • Time: All Day

  • Location: All Heartland Health Services sites

  • Description: Each clinic will celebrate our valued patients with unique and engaging activities tailored to the personality of each location, showcasing our commitment to exceptional care and community spirit. It's a fun-filled day designed to remind our community that they are the heart of our mission.

• Groundbreaking Ceremony

  • Date: August 8, 2024

  • Time: 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

  • Location: East Bluff Community Center - 512 E. Kansas Ave., Peoria, IL 61603

  • Description: Celebrate the partnership with East Bluff Community Center and commemorative groundbreaking of the upcoming East Bluff Community Center Health Center. Enjoy comments from EBCC and HHS representatives, refreshments, and more information about EBCC and HHS collaboration in support of the community.

• Back to School Festival

  • Date: August 10, 2024

  • Time: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

  • Location: New Beginnings Worship Center - 1910 W. Lincoln Ave., Peoria, IL 61605

  • Description: HHS will be supporting the kids of the community to equip them to go back to school with all supplies needed, school physicals, and numerous community resources and vendors.
