Dewitt Harrell joined Heartland Health Services in March of 2024 as the Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Heartland, Dewitt served as the Chief Administrative/Chief Financial Officer at PrimaryOne Health for seven years. During his time there he was responsible for Finance, Accounting, Budgeting, Grants, Procurement, Human Resources, Billing, Information Technology, Compliance, Facilities, 340B Pharmacy, and Managed Care Organization functions. He also led expansion construction projects such as the new Alum Creek Health Center, two School Based Health Centers, and four Mobile Health Centers.
Prior to joining PrimaryOne Health, Dewitt was President and CEO of DDHX Enterprises serving clients such as Franklin County Jobs and Family Services and Columbus Area Integrated Health Services.
Prior to that, Dewitt held the position of CFO/COO for the Columbus Metropolitan Library. While there, he earned CFO of the Year recognition from Business First Magazine and was instrumental in the multi-million-dollar new library construction project.
Dewitt has significant industry experiences from his years at Deloitte Consulting where some of his client assignments included Healthcare of America, HealthPartners, TriHealth, Cardinal Health, Steris, Allegheny Energy, Ashland Chemical, City of Cleveland, Toyota, Department of Energy, Federal Reserve Bank, FirstGroup, Safelite Auto Glass, State of Ohio, and Ford Automotive.
Dewitt is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University (EMBA) and Florida A&M University (BS) in Accounting.
Dewitt is actively involved in the community. He is a member of the Gahanna Jefferson Education Foundation and a past member of several Boards, including Workforce Development Board of Central Ohio (Chair), the Breathing Association, Ohio Regional Council IMA (Chair), National Director IMA, Gahanna Jefferson Schools, Ohio Association of Community Health Centers Board, and City of Gahanna Tax Appeal.
He is a member of Kaleidoscope Magazine 40-40 Professionals Club and Who’s Who for Business Professionals.
A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Dewitt enjoys art, golfing, traveling, and spending time with family.
